After yesterday’s draw for the quarter-finals and this afternoon’s weigh ins, Nottinghamshire pro boxer Joe Hughes, his team and his supporters are now counting down to tomorrow night’s 8 Man Lightweight Tournament taking place in Coventry.

Up against Rylan Charlton in the third quarter-final of the BOXXER show at the Coventry Skydome Arena, 25-year old Joe from Beeston commented after Thursday’s draw: “Ryan may be the favourite in our fight but I will be going out there to give him a boxing lesson!
“Saturday night’s show is my chance to shine and I’m looking forward to giving everyone there in Coventry or watching live on Sky Sports the opportunity to see me do just that.”
“Doors at the Skydome Arena open at 6pm on Saturday 16 April with the first bell at 8pm and the full tournament will be live on Sky Sports,” said his manager and coach Scott Calow.
“Rylan is already a TV favourite after his fights with Florian Marku and a good win against Joe Laws. He is a big puncher with KO power but if Joe sticks to the game plan we’ve laid out he will beat him, ensuring that he progresses up through the tournament on Saturday evening.
“On behalf of Joe and his team, a big thank you to everyone who will be in Coventry to support him tomorrow. If you can’t be there to do so in person, make sure you’re watching on Sky Sports Main Event from 8pm.
“And in the meantime, if you missed Thursday’s draw and this afternoon’s weigh ins you can still catch both on YouTube.”
