Just a couple of months after joining the Scott Calow Promotions stable, pro boxer Jamie Robinson walked out into the ring for a six-round contest with Mexican Berman Sanchez last night.
Saturday 9 July saw the 31-year old Middleweight, who currently lives and trains in Harlow in Essex, boxing for the first time as a professional near the town of Bolsover, where he moved to at the age of 15, when he fought on the card of the FIGHT NIGHT show in Worksop.
“Back in the ring for the first time since he boxed for the English title in February, he was up against an extremely durable opponent in Berman, who has 22 KOs from his 30 wins,” said Scott Calow.
“Dominating the fight in his trademark aggressive style, Jamie won every one of the six rounds to take the win on Saturday, his first fight under my management.
“Next up he’ll be heading to London on Saturday 3 September, then back up north again in November, after which we’ll be looking at getting some big fights and opportunities in 2023.”
“Saturday night was a long time coming, I’ve been waiting for six years to box near Bolsover, a place which took me in as one of its own when I lived there,” said Jamie.
“It was great to see people I haven’t seen for so long, to still have their support and not only that but to have so many friends and fans making the three-hour trip from Essex to cheer me on to victory too.
“Now I’m looking forward to the months ahead and determined to see how far I can get as a professional boxer.”
