Another national title for Huthwaite’s Marcus Ellis

Congratulations to 15-year old Marcus Ellis, who added a fourth national title to his record last weekend.

The young amateur, who’s been training and boxing for Huthwaite BC  since the age of 10, defeated Shay Johnson from Orme in the semis and Westree’s Kian Taylor in the final of the National Championships in Rotherham .

“Thank you to everyone who supported me – it was a fantastic weekend and I loved every minute of it,” said the four times National Champion and European Medallist. “Hopefully this was just the first of many more to come and I can’t wait to get back in the ring and do it all again.”

Marcus will have the opportunity to do exactly that in five weeks’ time, when he heads to Cardiff to box in the Tri Nations between Thursday 2 and Saturday 4 May.
