Six Nottingham boxers – six wins – congratulations to Jack Hutsby, Josh Gooding, Joe Hughes, Kyle Hughes, Chad Sugden and Ekow Essuman who all earned bragging rights at Harvey Hadden Stadium on Saturday 6 July…
“What an amazing night – the atmosphere was electric, the venue was packed and the crowd raised the roof in support of the home boxers,” said promoter Scott Calow.
“The Main Event more than lived up to expectations, an absolute classic between Chad Sugden and Luke Blackledge. Both boxers went all out to put it on the line in an exciting eight-rounder which saw Chad defeating Luke and rocketing up the Light Heavyweight rankings into Britain’s top 10.
“English champion Ekow Essuman kept busy, waiting for his shot at the British title and stopping a tough opponent in William Warburton. With wins for Jack, Josh, Joe and Kyle added to the mix to make it a clean sweep, by the end of the evening it was clear to all that Nottingham has no shortage of quality prospects for the future.!
