Described in a recent article by Carwyn Herbert on the British Boxers website as a man wearing many boxing hats, promoter Scott Calow is looking forward to a big and busy 2022, which kicked off with the first of four shows last weekend.
Hot on the heels of the show at the Circus Tavern on Saturday 26 January, presented in association with Victor Smith Promotions, tonight sees Boxing Connected‘s second Fight Night of the year taking place at the North Notts Arena in Worksop.
Among the boxers featured on the card for Saturday 5 March are Cameron Kaihau and Jay Shinfield, alongside top prospect Marcus Ellis whose trainer Scott will be cornering him in his second pro outing.
Just one week later, on Saturday 12 March, the action moves to Maidstone Leisure Centre, where Martin Mcdonagh looks to continue his ascent up the rankings boxing on a show packed with prospects looking to improve their records.
“We end the month on Saturday 26 March when we’ll be back at the Harvey Hadden Stadium in Nottingham, the scene of what was my best show to date last October,” said Scott. “Events there often have a great atmosphere and some highly competitive fights on the card and this one is no exception, with both Joe Hughes and Jack Hutsby both getting six-round tests.
“With Super Welterweight Ryan Amos also appearing on the show alongside his stablemate Jack Smith who is one of a host of debutants walking out into the ring at Harvey Hadden, this looks like being a fantastic night of action to complete Boxing Connected’s first quarter of 2022.
“Between matchmaking, training, managing and promoting, free time isn’t something that I have a lot of but I wouldn’t want it any other way. Despite all the difficulties with so many plates spinning, it’s an exciting start to a year which looks likely to be the biggest one yet for the stable.”
