A night of professional boxing in Nottingham

The last three weeks have been particularly busy for Scott Calow Boxing, with Ryan Amos going head-to-head with Kyle Haywood for the Midlands Area Super Welterweight Title at the Leicester Arena on Saturday 24 September.

“It was an exciting 10-rounder which ended in a draw and, as a result, Kyle retained the title,” said Scott. “But everyone there to support Ryan agreed that he put on a great show throughout the bout and we are hoping to announce a rematch soon.

“More recently, there was disappointing news for another of our boxers, Joe Hughes, who was scheduled to walk out for his first ever title fight in Birmingham on Friday 30 September.

“Just days before the event we learned that Shaun Cooper, his opponent for the Midlands Super Featherweight Title, had failed the final check weigh in and the fight was cancelled. But we managed to get Joe onto the card anyway – not the title fight we all wanted of course but at least the four-rounder against Jahfieus Fause ended in a win for Joe.”

Now, with just three days to go till its next big fight night, the team at Scott Calow Boxing is busy putting the final touches to what is guaranteed to be another sell-out show at Nottingham’s Harvey Hadden Stadium.

Doors open at 6pm on Saturday 8 October, with the first bout beginning at 6.30pm, and fight fans will be out in force to support their local favourites.

Among the home boxers on the card are Conner Short, DJ Tollerton, brothers Frazer and Jake Morgan, Derrick Osaze and, in the Main Event of the night, Jamie Robinson from Essex versus Ukranian Mykhailo Sovtus.

The show will also see new signing Taylor Greig walking out into the ring for Scott Calow for the first time.

“Harvey Hadden is a great venue, where we regularly host our shows, and we’re all looking forward to welcoming fighters and fans back there again on Saturday,” said Scott.

“It will be our third fight night there so far this year and I’m sure it will be every bit as action-packed as those in March and June.

“The final fight card for this weekend’s show is now available – just follow this link for full details of what to expect on Saturday evening.”
