Some top class action in the ring this spring

After a great start to 2023 with Taylor Greig‘s appearance in Solihull in the Welterweight TOP BOXER 8-Man Tournament last month, more of Scott Calow‘s professional boxers are getting ready to walk out into the ring over the coming weeks.

“Without a doubt, the highlight of the night for Derbyshire-based Taylor’s supporters was his KO of the previously unbeaten Bret Egan in the first round,” said his manager Scott Calow.

“With wins in both the quarter and semi finals of the contest, we all had high hopes of a third in the final but a close bout saw victory by a single point for his opponent Kirk Stevens. Now Taylor and now his fans are all looking forward to Saturday 20 May when we’re confident he will be continuing the great start he’s already made to his career.

“In the meantime, there’s plenty to look forward to this month, with our first fight night of the year at the Harvey Hadden Stadium kicking things off on Saturday 4 March.

“Filmed by Fightzone, the show features 10 great fights and we’re confident it will be another sell-out event here in Nottingham.

“There’ll be more action on Saturday 11 March, when Ryan Amos heads back to Leicester‘s Athena for his rematch against Kyle Hayward, boxing for the Midlands Area Super Welterweight Championship after their previous contest ended in a hard-fought draw.

“Just a few days later, on Friday 17 March it’s the turn of Joe Hughes who gets his first title opportunity when he will be up against the unbeaten Ameen Khalid for the Midlands Super Featherweight Title.

“And without a doubt, there’ll be more to come in the weeks and months ahead – make sure you keep an eye on here and on our Facebook page for the latest news and details of how to support your local boxing favourites.”
