The latest news from Scott Calow Boxing

A look back at two big events in March 2023 and a look forward to what’s on the card for the coming weeks and months…

“Our first home show of 2023, at Harvey Hadden Stadium on Saturday 4 March, was a great success with a full house enjoying a total of 10 bouts, three of which saw victories for DJ Tollerton, Marcus Ellis and Jack Richard Smith,” said promoter Scott Calow.

“And it was also the first of our shows to be broadcast live on Fightzone.

“One week later, on Saturday 11 March, Ryan Amos was back in the ring when he returned to Leicester‘s Athena for his rematch against Kyle Hayward, boxing for the Midlands Area Super Welterweight Championship.

“After their previous contest in September 2022 ended in a hard-fought draw, this time there was a result for Ryan, his team and his supporters as he took both the win and the belt.

“Now we’re looking forward to more great contests in the coming weeks, the first of which features Ginger Rocket Jamie Robinson who’ll be heading to York Hall in London to take on Birmingham-based Ben Fields in their Welterweight fight.

“And plans are already well under way for the second home show of the year, our first promotion in Derby that takes place at Arleston Hall. The full fight card is currently being finalised but already on the list to box on Saturday 20 May are Sajid Abid, Taylor Greig, Arfan Iqbal, Jack Richard Smith and Jake Morgan.

“There’ll be more details for this one soon so make sure you keep an eye on the Facebook feed and Instagram page for updates, together with information about how to buy tickets. And while you’re there, please LIKE and FOLLOW the Scott Calow Boxing page on Facebook so you’re always in the know about what’s on the cards for all of our boxers.

“Look out too for all the news about two more big fights, one featuring Ryan Amos who will be defending his title in Dudley on Saturday 10 June and the other featuring Joe Hughes, as well as for the details of some new signings that we’ll be announcing soon.”
