Boxing Connected was back in Worksop on Saturday 20 November to host its last local fight night of 2021.
The show saw Marcus Ellis, a former four times National Champion and European medalist, walking out into the ring to make his professional debut in his home town.
“Up against Klye Boothman, 18-year old Marcus got his pro career off to a great start and definitely made a statement when he took the win with a KO in the first round, showing the crowd gathered at the North Notts Arena that he’s certainly one to watch for the future,” said his manager and coach Scott Calow.
“There were solid performances too from both Joe Hughes and Ryan Amos as they went head to head with Taka Bambere and Luke Middleton respectively. Both are improving and will be looking to step up in 2022.
“The night also saw Declan Cairns moving to 4-0 when he defeated George Rogers on points in an entertaining fight. Another of the boxers under my management, George will be going down the road of professional journeyman.
“Now the focus is firmly fixed on our final show of the year, when we’ll be joining forces with Victor Smith Promotions to present XMAS BOX AT THE CIRCUS down in Purfleet in Essex on Saturday 11 December.
“We’re busy putting the final touches to the card for this one at the moment – watch this space for more details coming soon.”
